Posted On : May 28,2013

Love making is all about passion and desires. But sometimes despite full proof preparation to enjoy a protected sex, accidents happen – condoms can break!

Such unfortunate events may happen when you have worn the condom incorrectly or it might slip off. Whatever may be the reason but you are already surrounded by a dark cloud of fear and is almost on the verge of a panic breakdown.

Relax, suggests three things that you need to follow if your condom dumps you suddenly:

1. Rush for contraceptives: Well, if you were using a condom, it means you surely do not want to have a new addition. But your trusted condom has ditched you – logic says it’s time for you to rush to the nearest chemist and grab an emergency contraceptive pill. Such birth control pills can prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of the accidental act.
However, it is always advisable to take the pill as soon as possible or atleast within 24 hours for effective results. Side effects of the pill like - nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache and menstrual changes may occur (however not mandatory).

2. Rush for STD test: Well, so the accident has taken place and there is no use crying over it. But be sure that you have not contracted any sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Both the partners should and must get tested for STDs, including HIV, at the earliest.
3. Don’t rush for unprotected sex again: Now that you have learnt the unexpected lesson of your life, prepare yourself to never repeat it again.
Breaking a condom may take place due to many reasons. Try analyzing your reason! Be extra careful from the next time. After all, you do not want to undergo the same anxiety and panic like before.

It is also advisable not to rush to have intercourse without paying much attention to the way the condom is worn. Or else, the shocking events may repeat itself. Save yourself from it!
